Where are the products made?
The Bio-organic catalysts (BOC’s) products are manufactured in the USA by Bio-Organic Catalyst, Inc. under patents utilising the highest quality of ingredients.
Are the products solid or liquid?
All of the BOC’s are liquid products. They are clear, free flowing liquids that are easily used through small to large dosing pumps, pressure spray systems, misters and sprinklers.
Are they safe for humans and animals?
All the products are an organic liquid that are completely nontoxic, non-hazardous and completely safe to humans, animals, marine life and plants.
What is a bio-organic catalysts (BOC)?
BOC's (bio-organic catalysts) are organic liquids classified as Organocatalyst's. Organocatalyst's are defined as organic compounds other than enzymes that perform in similar though non limiting ways.
In our offerings case, producing a broad based, non-specific, organic catalysis mechanism uniquely including a high gas transfer function. The products are not oxidizing agents in themselves, but catalyse the transfer of oxygen to biological and chemical oxidation processes when oxygen is supplied by water, air and/or chemicals.
What then is Organocatalysis in comparison to Organocatalyst's?
In organic chemistry, the term Organocatalysis (a combination of the terms “organic” and “catalyst”) refers to a form of catalysis, whereby the rate of a chemical reaction is increased by an organic catalyst referred to as an “organocatalyst” consisting of carbon, hydrogen, sulphur and other non-metal elements found in organic compounds.
How and why are they different to enzymes?
Because of their similarity in composition and description, they are often mistaken as a misnomer for enzymes due to their comparable effects on reaction rates and forms of catalysis involved.
The big difference is that Enzymes have a specific job and only work once. Organocatalyst's are a broad range catalysts that work multiple times, and they just keep going and going creating great value for money in comparison to enzymes.
How do BOC’s work and what do they do?
BOC Technology provides the biological factors for accelerated degradation of organic wastes.
Unlike enzymatic and bacterial products, BOC Technology introduces micro-bubbles, containing oxygen, into the system, which is then made available to aerobic bacteria. By accelerating the transfer of oxygen gas exchanges, an essential and fundamental catalyst of ecological restoration,
BOC Technology acts directly on nature’s own inherent restorative mechanisms to obtain ultra-clean facilities.
BOC Technology also contains Bio-Emulsifiers, which rapidly breakdown waste materials creating a food source for indigenous bacteria. They work through a unique ability called ‘beta-oxidation’, which acts across the entire spectrum of organic structures, causing them to break apart into their constituent components (Hydrocarbons are broken down into carbon dioxide and water!).
Where are BOC’s used?
BOC’s are used across an array industries to solve a number of issues in waste water treatment, beverage and facilities cleaning, hydrocarbon cleaning, odour control, anaerobic digestion, composting and animal care, fats, oils and grease clean up, pulp and paper mills.
Will a BOC only mask or eliminate odour?
Many chemicals that are used for odour control just mask or help move the problem downstream. BOC based VOC odour management systems provide the highest performance standards in eliminating noxious odours and hazardous VOCs. They neutralize ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and hydrocarbon type noxious VOC compounds in solid waste, organic compositing, and sludge treatment.
Can BOC’s be used for cleaning?
Yes. Traditional cleaners can leave toxic residues which in some cases lead to re-occurrence of pathogen growth. BOC cleaners have been shown to be very effective in treating the most difficult waste pollutants, specifically fats, oils, greases, and hydrocarbons. They unlock a two-fold cleaning sequence: 1. Wastes are naturally solubilized (bio-catalysis – broken down into constituent components), and 2. Accelerated gas transfers provide a deep cleaning effect of the pollutants. The resulting benefits are that surfaces, substrates, drain lines, interceptors, garbage dumpsters, etc. are very deeply cleaned and odour free, leaving behind no residual elements.
EcoCatalysts™ has a HACCP Australia accreditation meaning it serves a dual purpose as a powerful cleaning solution as well as providing a permanent solution to Fats, Oils and Grease build up.
Can a BOC be mixed with sanitizing agents for cleaning?
Yes. BOC Technology eliminates the drawbacks and limitations of enzymatic and bacterial products, i.e. incompatibility with sanitizing agents (bleach or hypo chloride), temperature ranges, and application restrictions.
Additionally, BOC Technology is much safer, is non-irritating and nontoxic to all human, animal and marine life.
Can BOC’s be used for Hydrocarbon remediation?
BOC Technology cleaves the ester bonds in long chain fatty acids and Hydrocarbons and reduces these pollutants to their constituent components, carbon dioxide and water. Used by facilities to clean up accidental spills and also for dry-well treatment.
Can BOC’s break down Bio-films and Organic Binders?
BOC Technology breaks down organic binders which eliminate bio-films and mineralisation. Used in cooling towers, paper mills and treatment plants to break-down bio-films where pathogens are protected.
It can be used in conjunction with biocides for a thorough cleaning of the smallest of spaces in the system.
Can I Use BOC’s in fountains, ponds and swimming pools?
By breaking down organic binders which eliminate bio-films and mineralisation in water, the water in pools and fountains is rendered crystal clear, while using less chlorine. Small orifices cannot get clogged with bio-films.
There is no worry for the swimmer as they are completely safe to humans being non-toxic and nonhazardous.
Why choose BOC, an Organocatalyst over a chemical?
There is more and more constant pressure for businesses and government entities to become greener. In the past chemicals were seen as the only alternative for breakdown of organics wastes, sludge, fats, oil and greases and for cleaning.
BOC’s is now not only an equivalent to chemicals in performance, but offers end users the “green” chemistry that is now superior in performance.
What rates do the BOC’s need to be applied?
Due to being highly concentrated liquid technology, BOC’s are applied at low ppm’s rates, making them an easy and cost effective product to manage for application, transport and inventory.
How are the BOC’s applied?
BOC’s are highly concentrated liquid additives which can be injected into a wastewater stream for quick results prior to entering the primary clarifiers and other channels, or applied through water/air foggers, water hoses and other types of pressure spray systems, on a highly diluted basis, directly onto accumulated organic wastes and noxious odorous conditions.
How often and where do I apply BOC’s?
Being highly concentrated and using only in ppm’s, consistent daily dosing is the best practice for ultimate results. However, each facility is different and it is important that our technical staff custom fit the products to best suit your requirements on how often they are applied, where the best injection location is in your system and at what rate based on your flow through, waste load and facility use.
Do the products have a shelf life?
BOC’ Shelf life is 2 years from date of manufacture.
What packaging do the products come in?
Product packaging includes 1040L IBC’s, 208L drums and 19L box containing 2 x 9.5L jugs
Can the product be stored outside?
Outside storage only during application, long term storage in cool, dry place undercover.
Who does the installation?
We or our agents undertake the installation. As every site is different we work closely with you to best suit your requirements and where the product is best to be applied. In some cases product can simply be applied through already installed systems. In cleaning facilities it is just to your standard cleaning equipment.
How often do you check the installation and product rate?
Installations are checked either or bi-monthly depending on the individual installation and the time it has been installed for.
